Hi Family,

Are you feeling alone?

For those of us who are grieving today, know that you are not alone. Whether we’re mourning a loved one, a relationship, a job, an opportunity, or grappling with the aftermath of events like theft or accidents, or simply feeling lost, lonely, or empty, understand that you are not alone.

I remember a time not long ago when I suffered loss. I just wanted to stay in bed and cry. Everyday I woke up, it felt like a repeat of the day before – stagnation. Although I appeared fine on the outside, inside I was torn apart.

What lies are we telling ourselves?

I told myself , “no one understood.”

“Nothing made sense.”

“Why bother trying?”

“Nobody cares,” I thought to myself.

I felt so alone.

Why do I feel so alone?

Understand that although our feelings are valid, they are temporary; they aren’t facts and they are not permanent. Grieve, cry, bawl, holler, pray, write, sing, shout—whatever, however—get it out. Try not to blame, criticize, or condemn, this solves nothing. Then, we need to remember that we are not alone, God is with us. He said he will never leave or forsake us. Hebrew 13:5-6.

Also, many persons have gone through similar and even worse events; this does not invalidate our feelings. What it should encourage us to do is speak about it.

Let’s tell our stories so others can learn that they are not alone.

Again, what can we do?

Cry out to God… and LISTEN.

Encourage ourselves through scriptures.

Reach out to our community (family, friends, church etc.).

Connect with people who share our core values.

Talk to someone we trust.

Talk to a professional.

Tell our stories.

We don’t need to suffer alone.

Be blessed.

Sanch
