Be thankful in everything
Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. When we are going through tough times, it is tempting to think that there is nothing to be thankful. If we look deeper, we all have something to give thanks for. We are all alive. Every day, people are dying at alarming rates. There has never been a better time to acknowledge how grateful we are for life.
We take several other things for granted that we need to be thankful for because all good gifts come from God. Some things we can all be grateful for; a place to live, a bed to sleep in, water, electricity, food on our table, a job, transportation, physical freedom, and our Bibles. We should be thankful for the word of God because how else would we know about Him? Faith comes by hearing the word of God. How would we know his promises? How would we know His will for us? Are you beginning to see the value of the Bible?
Apart from the things we take for granted, we can all think of at least one major thing God has done for us. Remember these miracles and give Him thanks. One way to remain thankful is to list what you are grateful for daily. We call this a gratitude journal; it reminds us to be thankful every day despite our circumstances.
Being thankful helps us to keep a positive mindset. When you begin to think about things you are grateful for, your mind focuses on lovely, admirable, and praiseworthy things. This type of thinking leads to right thinking or “guarding your heart” (Proverbs 4:23). With a positive mindset and a grateful heart, you can not only survive tough times, but you can also strive – be fruitful. Because as a man thinketh in his heart so is he.
There you have it. To be fruitful, you need to stay connected to Christ.
